VISITOR FAQ'S

Can I buy an admission ticket when I arrive?

We recommend buying your ticket(s) online, prior to your visit, as availability is limited at the moment. However, if we are below capacity, there may be tickets available to purchase on arrival at the main entrance (West Doors).

What toilet facilities are available?

We have limited toilet facilities available in the Cathedral including one accessibility toilet. There are public toilets open on Palace Green (opposite the main entrance to the Cathedral), so it may be prudent to use those beforehand.

Do I have to wear a face mask?

As per other shops and venues it is recommended that you wear a face mask.

Can I bring my dog into the Cathedral when I visit?

Yes! Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead.

Is there somewhere to get refreshments?

Our on-site café is currently closed but our Almonry Restaurant, a two minute walk from the South Door exit, across the East Lawn will be serving a wide range of delicious snacks and meals.

What else is there to do whilst visiting?

We are unable to offer Tower Tours at the moment but we have guides within the Cathedral, Thursday - Saturday between 11am - Midday and 1.30pm - 2.30pm to answer your questions and give you a further insight into the Cathedral's incredible history.

Can I get a residents pass or renew my old one which has expired?

We are currently updating our system for producing residents' passes, so in the meantime we are honouring all passes which have expired until further notice. If you don't have one, please bring proof of your address as the pass applies to those living within CB6 and CB7 postal code areas.

Can I bring a group?

If you have a group of 15 or more people, you will need to book directly and in advance until further notice. During this period of social distancing, we are unable to allow groups in who haven't pre-booked. Please call this number for more details 01353 667735.

Is there somewhere to leave luggage?

For security reasons, we are unable to hold any luggage for visitors.
