Visitor Opening Times

Wednesday 28 October
9.30am – 4pm: The Cathedral will be much busier than usual with set up and rehearsals for Britten Sinfonia.
4pm – 5pm: Limited visitor access to the Presbytery due to a wedding rehearsal.

Thursday 29 October
10am – 11.15am: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a children’s service.
1pm – 2pm: No visitor access to the Presbytery due to a lunchtime concert.  Visitors are welcome to attend the concert.
2.15pm – 4pm: No visitor access to the East End and Presbytery due to a wedding.

Friday 30 October
12 noon – 1.15pm: No visitor access to Bishop West’s Chapel due to a service.

November

Monday 2 November
9.30am – 11.30am: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a children’s event

Wednesday 4 November
10am – 4pm: Organ tuning.  Please note this involves loud and repetitive noise.

Thursday 5 November
10am – 11.15am: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a children’s service.
1pm – 2pm: No visitor access to the Presbytery due to a lunchtime concert.  Visitors are welcome to attend the concert.

Saturday 7 November
1pm – 4pm: The Cathedral will be busier than usual with rehearsals for In Remembrance.  Some visitor access and views will be restricted.

Sunday 8 November
2pm – 3.30pm: Some visitor access and views will be restricted in the Octagon area due to choir rehearsals.

Tuesday 10 November
Open for visits from 10am.

Wednesday 11 November 
Open for visits from 11.30am, due to an Act of Remembrance at 10.30.

Thursday 12 November
10am – 11.15am: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a children’s service.
1pm – 2pm: No visitor access to the South Transept due to a lunchtime concert.  Visitors are welcome to attend the concert.

Friday 13 November
Open for visits 9.30am – 3.45pm (last entry 2.45pm) due to a service at 4.30pm.
12 noon – 5pm: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to set up for a private event.

Saturday 14 November
3.30pm – 4.30pm: The Lady Chapel will be busier than usual with set up for an event.

Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 November
The Cathedral will be busier than usual with set up for the Christmas Gift & Food Fair.  Some visitor access and views will be restricted.

Wednesday 18 November
No visitor entry or tours due to set up for the Christmas Gift & Food Fair.

Thursday 19 – Saturday 21 November
Entry to the Cathedral is by ticket to the Christmas Gift and Food Fair only.  The Cathedral will be much busier than usual and no tours run.  If your main interest if the history and heritage of the building, you may prefer to visit on a different day.

Monday 23 November
Open for visits 9.30am – 1pm (last entry 12 noon) due to a schools’ event.

Wednesday 25 November

All day: No visitor access to the Lady Chapel due to a private event.
All day: The Cathedral will be busier than usual with set up and rehearsals for Christmas with Jethro Tull. Some visitor access and views will be limited.

Saturday 5 December
1pm – 4pm: The Cathedral will be busier than usual with rehearsals for Christmas by Candlelight.  Some visitor access and views will be restricted.

Monday 7 December
Open for visits 9.30am – 12.30pm (last entry 11.30am) due to a schools’ service. The Stained Glass Museum closes at 4pm (last entry 3.30pm).

Tuesday 8 December
Open for visits from 11.30am, due to a school service.  The Stained Glass Museum opens at 10am.

1pm – 4pm: The Cathedral will be busy with rehearsals for G4 Christmas.  Some visitor access and views will be limited.
The Stained Glass Museum opens at 10am.

Monday 14 December
Open for visits 9.30am – 1.15pm (last entry 12.15pm) due to a school service.
9.30am – 11am: Visitor access in the Octagon area will be limited due to school rehearsals.

Thursday 24 December – Christmas Eve
All are welcome to join our services at 12 noon, 3pm, 6pm and 11pm.
Visitor access is 10am – 11.30am and 1pm – 2.30pm.  No tours run, no tickets are needed but donations are welcome.

Friday 25 December – Christmas Day
Everyone is welcome to join our services at 10.30am and 4pm.  Visitor access is 12.30pm – 3pm.  No tours run, no tickets are needed but donations are welcome.

Saturday 26 December – Boxing Day
Visitor access is 10am – 3.30pm.  No tours run today, no tickets are needed but donations are welcome.

Sunday 27 December
Open for visits 12 noon -3pm.
2pm – 4pm: The Cathedral will be busy with rehearsals for Come and Sing Carols.

Monday 28 December – Saturday 2 January
Open for visits 10am – 3.30pm.  All are welcome to join the service of Evening Prayer at 4pm.
