Visitor Tickets and Tours
Visitor Tickets
We recommend booking visitor tickets in advance, although tickets can be purchased on arrival at the Cathedral. Ely Cathedral is a busy working cathedral so we advise you check any changes to opening times prior to your visit.
We also offer the option to include a visit to The Stained Glass Museum, housed upstairs in the Cathedral.
Pre-booking is advised if you want to join any of our tours as places are limited. These include Octagon Tower Tours, West Tower Experience and Ground Floor Tours.
Visitor Ticket Prices
Adults: £14
Children Under 16: Free (in family group)
Annual Pass
You can upgrade your visitor ticket to an annual pass at no extra cost*. An Annual Pass allows you free entry during visitor opening times for an entire year from the date you purchased your ticket. Please ask the team on duty about an Annual Pass.
Please Note
Annual Passes are not transferable and are not valid for concerts or events. Always check for any changes to opening times in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.
* Annual passes are only available for full price visitor tickets, not for tour tickets or discounted group tickets.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK income tax payer, please consider gift aiding your visitor ticket at no extra cost. Gift aid helps us maintain and care for Ely Cathedral.
Free Entry
Please check Free Cathedral Entry for information to see if you are eligible for free entry.
Refunds
Tickets are not refundable unless the Cathedral cancels a visit or tour. It may be possible to transfer your booking to another date with suitable notice - please contact the box office for details (see below).
If you have any queries about your booking, please contact us on: box.office@elycathedral.org or call 01353 660349. (Please note this number is monitored on a part time basis Monday - Fridays only).

The Stained Glass Museum is located on an upper level of Ely Cathedral. Entrance to the museum is via a spiral stone staircase of 40 steps. The stairs are fitted with a handrail. How your visit benefits Ely Cathedral
Unlike museums and arts organisations, the Cathedral receives no regular government funding and we are reliant on the contribution made by our congregation, community and visitors. The upkeep of the Cathedral currently costs £10,000 a day so by purchasing a visitor ticket, you are supporting the running costs and maintenance of the Cathedral and the on-going mission of the Dean and Chapter.
