Planning your Group Visit

We warmly welcome all groups, including special interest groups, language school groups and organised tours. 

Our friendly and knowledgeable team is here to help you organise and plan your day. We are always happy to answer questions you may have and to discuss your visit in detail.

What you need to know at a glance

• Please note that group bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance.  This helps us manage the number of visitors in the Cathedral and avoid clashes between your group, visiting schools and those taking part in our public programmes, services and events.
• Cathedral Guides are volunteers and are subject to availability.  All guided tours for groups must be booked, confirmed and paid for at least two weeks in advance.  While we endeavour to find the required number of Guides for your group, on occasions we may need to ask you to undertake a self-led tour of the Cathedral.
• The size of your group should be a minimum of 15.
• Groups arriving at the Cathedral without pre-booking or arriving late risk not being admitted. Priority is always given to pre-booked groups especially in the high season (May – Sept and Dec).

To book your visit, just complete and return the Group Booking Form. Upon receipt of your booking form, arrangements will be made for your group and a confirmation email with booking reference will be sent to you.

The bookings office is open Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 2.00pm.

The Almonry Kitchen

We are delighted to be able to offer visiting groups catering services at the Almonry Kitchen, with its medieval vaulting and garden with unparalleled views of the Cathedral.

We are pleased to offer a 10% discount on the day of your visit. This offer applies to groups with Cathedral admission and who have pre-booked with the Almonry Kitchen. Please note that we are not able to extend to groups that have not pre-booked with us.

Please note that we do not permit, or have any facilities for, food or drink to be consumed inside the Cathedral.
