Ely Cathedral

02 October 2021 7:30pm

Prime Brass and Junior Prime Brass return to the Cathedral once again for their annual concert, joined by conductor Edmund Aldhouse and organist Glen Dempsey.

This year they present an all-English programme, celebrating the centenary (to the month) of the birth in October 1921 of the composer Malcolm Arnold, alongside works by Arthur Bliss, William Walton and Ted Chance.

Highlights include Arnold's Little Suites for Brass Band Nos. 1 & 2 and his quirky 'Padstow Lifeboat'; and Walton's ever-popular 'Crown Imperial'.

There are also solo appearances by two alumnae of Junior Prime Brass: horn player Annemarie Federle (Concerto Finalist in BBC Young Musician 2020) and trumpeter ZoŽ Perkins (Brass Finalist in BBC Young Musician 2016).

This is all set to be a spectacular evening of great variety, with something for everyone.

Tickets £10. Children Free.
