Ely Cathedral Octagon Singers

ELY CATHEDRAL OCTAGON SINGERS (ECOS)

About

ECOS is Ely Cathedral's voluntary choir. It is an integral part of the Cathedral's musical life, singing at Choral Evensong, Sunday Eucharist, and many special services, andappearing often in the Cathedral's busy concert calendar.

What's involved

The choir is an enthusiastic and friendly group, performing a broad repertoire stretching from the Renaissance to the present day. Members are experienced amateur singers and standards are high. Singers sign up to undertake as many events as they can, with a minimum requirement of two services per academic term. There is no regular weekly rehearsal: most preparation is done on the day of a service, allowing members as much flexibility as possible.

Joining

Entry is by an informal, friendly audition with the Director, Edmund Aldhouse (Assistant Organist of Ely Cathedral), and Assistant Director, Andrew Parnell, (former Assistant Master of the Music at St Albans Cathedral and Director of Ely Choral Society).
