Term Time Fun

There are lots of opportunities for children to take part in activities and events at the Cathedral during term time. From Little Gargoyles to Lego Cafe, we have plenty going on for toddlers as well as activities after school for older children. We'd love to welcome you along to one of our regular events!

The best way to keep up to date with what's happening each week is to join our Facebook page - Ely Cathedral Learning. We regularly update this with reminders for upcoming activities. You can also contact us at learning@elycathedral.org if you have any questions about any of our activities.

Little Gargoyles

Little Gargoyles
Join the rest of the Little Gargoyle's for fun with songs, stories rhymes and crafts.

Where to find us
Little Gargoyles is held on alternate Mondays in the Lady Chapel at the Cathedral. Come in through the West Door and someone will be able to direct you from there.
Upcoming Sessions: 15 April, 29 April, 13 May, 3 June, 17 June, 1 July and 15 July.

What will you be doing?
Having fun and being silly! Little Gargoyles always starts with a story - this term we have been reading books all about gardens. We might sing some songs (in fact we always sing together to welcome everyone to the group), play some games, make something to take home and our youngest members can explore the sensory table. All the activities and crafts are themed around the story that we have read that morning.

How do I join in?
Just come along to one of our sessions. There is no need to pre-book this activity and no charge for it either, though we are always grateful for any donation that you are able to give.

Lego Cafe
Every fortnight, we meet to get creative and share some food with friends.

Where to find us
Lego Cafe is held in the Cathedral Centre which is just opposite the Cathedral on Palace Green.Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month (during term time) from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.

What will you be doing?
Using our creativity to build incredible things! There will be lots of lego and duplo out for you to use to build whatever you are inspired to build. If you need a bit of inspiration, we have plenty of books that are full of building ideas. We will also be serving drinks and food. We usually serve a hot meal in the winter, but as the weather gets warmer we might be serving filled rolls. There's bound to be something you'll love. Drinks are also available including delicious hot chocolate or chocolate milkshake in the warmer months. There's tea and coffee for the adults too. If you have any dietary requirements you just need to let us know, we usually have gluten, dairy and meat free options available.
