Sensory Easter Trail
Thursday 28 March 2024 until Sunday 14 April 2024.

Where to find us
Collect your Reflection Rings from the Ticket Office and start your trail from outside the gift shop. Follow the banners in a clockwise direction to explore the story of Easter.

What will you be doing?
You will be following a trail of large banners around the Cathedral, discovering the story of the first Easter as you go. At each banner there is a table of sensory resources and a PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) story card. Use sight, sound, touch and smell to engage with the events of Holy Week and beyond. The Reflection Rings collected from the Ticket Office compliment these resources. There are First and Then suggestions on the front of the cards for a simple retelling of the story, with additional information and activities on the reverse of the cards for those who would like to find out more. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to enjoy the trail.

Please be aware that the Cathedral will sometimes have musical rehearsals. If you have someone in your group who is sensitive to sound, please consider bringing their ear defenders. Please see the SET notes for website PDF document below for more information if you would like to create a Social Story in advance of your visit.

How do I join in?
The Sensory Easter Trail is provided within your usual entrance fee to the Cathedral. Ask for a Reflection Ring at the Ticket Office when you arrive and start your trail outside the Gift Shop. When you have finished your trail, please return the Reflection Rings to a member of staff in the Ticket Office or one of our Welcome Team.
