The Legacies of the Windrush Cambridge hosted at Ely Cathedral is a celebration of the Windrush pioneers who made Cambridge their home and through their innovative contributions, courage, creativity and service, transformed Cambridge city and the United Kingdom.

Their stories are woven into the very heart of our city shaping our culture, strengthening our communities, leaving and enduring legacy in the fabric of the United Kingdom.

Through the voices of our Windrush Elders, witness the life stories of courage and belonging of family roots and new beginnings. Discover how they shared their vibrant music and culture, cherished food and faith and their unwavering service to the United Kingdom. 

In this exhibition you will engage with the oral narratives of our Windrush Pioneers, the veterans who stood with us, the NHS midwives who cared for us, the musicians who inspired us, and the Windrush individuals of Cambridge community who brought us together. 

This exhibition is in the South West transept of the Cathedral. No visitor ticket is required to see the exhibition.
