Julian Allwood is a British academic and leading researcher in climate change mitigation. He is Professor of Engineering and the Environment in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He served as a Lead Author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Fifth Assessment Report, focusing on strategies to reduce industrial greenhouse gas emissions.

Allwood is the author of Sustainable Materials: With Both Eyes Open (2012), which was selected by Bill Gates as one of his six favourite books of 2015. He later published a revised and updated edition titled Sustainable Materials: Without the Hot Air.
