The Nave

Possibly the largest venue in East Anglia, the awe inspiring Nave at Ely took twenty years to build, was completed in 1130 and is one of the longest Naves of any UK Cathedral. The Romanesque archways lead the eye up to the beautiful painted ceiling and towards the world famous Octagon Tower.

This unique venue offers both beauty and atmosphere whether you are considering a gala dinner, a business reception for 1000 or a charity evening, the Nave offers a space unlike any other which will astonish your guests.

The Nave has been used for receptions, banquets, film studios, fairs, exhibitions and conferences. The versatility of the space lends itself to hosting diverse and imaginative events and occasions.

This highly flexible area can provide for a variety of permutations depending on numbers and specific requirements.

The Lady Chapel

The largest Lady Chapel attached to any English Cathedral, it is globally renowned for its beauty and superb acoustics. The space is attached to the main Cathedral but with the potential of separate and restricted access, providing an ideal venue for a private dinners, receptions, banquets, presentations or exhibitions.

Very few places in the world can offer you such an exclusive venue. With under floor heating, a modern kitchen facility and toilets, Ely Cathedral’s Lady Chapel offers a wonderful combination of the best of old and new, providing a perfect setting for a wide variety of corporate and social events.

In recent years the Lady Chapel has been used extensively as a film and TV location, award dinners, charity events and private hire. The space can accommodate receptions, dinners and banquets from 400 to 50 guests.
