Published: 21 Dec 2016
Canon James Garrard has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society which is given to those who have made a contribution of significance to historical studies.
Canon Garrard was awarded the fellowship after publishing a study of William Howley, who was Archbishop of Canterbury from 1828 until his death in 1848, based on his doctoral research before ordination. This was part of the Ashgate Archbishops of Canterbury series which aims to survey all the holders of that office.
