Revd Eleanor Williams

Eleanor Williams has been Vicar of St Mary’s, Burwell, and St Etheldreda’s in Reach, since 2011 and has served as Rural Dean of Fordham and Quy Deanery since 2022. Prior to her appointment in Burwell, she worked as a GP in Cambridge for more than 20 years, serving the communities of Arbury and Kings Hedges. During this time, she was also involved in teaching and training junior doctors and medical students at the University of Cambridge.
With family roots in the mining communities of South Wales, Eleanor retains a strong connection to the Valleys. She studied medicine in Cardiff and completed her GP training before moving to Cambridge in 1990. She later trained for ordained ministry with the Eastern Region Ministry Course (ERMC) and served her title post at All Saints, Milton.
Drawing on her experience in both medicine and ministry, Eleanor is also a trustee of The Guild of Health and St Raphael (GoHealth).
