Up for a challenge? Feeling fit? Join our West Tower Experience which will see you climbing the 288 steps of the top of the tower and being rewarded with fabulous 360 views across the city of Ely and far beyond.
Take the opportunity to capture some wonderful photos of the surrounding landscape and a few selfies to celebrate making it up there, too!
The West Tower Experience takes up to 45 minutes in total and requires a good level of fitness and mobility. We advise anyone with any mobility issues or pre-existing health conditions to consider this before booking. A minimum of 2 visitors is needed for a Climb to go ahead.
Days and Times: Sundays at 12.15pm, 1.15pm & 2.15pm
Tickets: Adults 16+: £9.00 (in addition to your visitor ticket), Children (age 10-15): £7.50. We cannot accept children under 10 on this climb.
Please note: If you only want the West Tower Experience without also visiting the Cathedral, or if you usually have Free Cathedral Entry, it is possible to book the Experience only in person on arrival, or by contacting us in advance at Box Office prior to your visit.
We advise booking in advance on-line and all participants must have read the Terms and Conditions. This climb experience is not suitable for everyone.
There is a minimum of 2 and maximum of 12 places per West Tower Experience.
Please meet your Guide near the font in the South West Transept of the cathedral 5 minutes before your climb is due to start, as it will start promptly.
For safety reasons the West Tower Experience may need to be suspended in extreme weather such as freezing ice or strong winds. Full refunds will be given plus the option to rebook.
