Also known as Brer Rabbit original by William Morris & Co.19th Century

A fine Jacquard woven bell pull by Master tapestry weavers, gives a superb detail to the weave. The original fabric was designed as a tribute to the Uncle Remus books, first published in 1881, & a favourite of the Morris family. Original woven at Merton Abbey Surrey, it was adapted by Morris from a 17th Century Italian silk. Despite Morris' ambitions to be a painter & his latter reputation as a writer, poet, publisher & political activist, it is as a designer that he is most widely known. His style formed a bridge between Victorian & modern composition, the emphasis of Morris' timeless style is based on individuality & handcrafted work. Traditional Tapestries use only the finest quality materials & workmanship in all aspects of their collections, each item makes a superb gift to cherish for a lifetime.

Individually hand-made in Cornwall using Flemish woven tapestry, velvet base & finished with a woven braid.
