The Dean of Ely
The Dean chairs the Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body, and oversees the mission and ministry of the Cathedral. He works very closely with the residentiary canons and the lay staff (particularly the Chief Operating Officer) in the delivery of that mission and ministry. It is a wide collaborative enterprise, but the Dean, as chair of Chapter, and head of the Foundation holds final responsibility for all that is undertaken.
