Cathedral Choir

There has been a Cathedral Choir at Ely for many hundreds of years, and the tradition of daily choral music remains at the heart of the Cathedral’s work and witness.

Today the Cathedral Choir consists of boy and girl choristers and adult professional singers, who between them sing at the majority of the daily services.

As well as its work in Ely, the Cathedral Choir regularly undertakes international tours, professional CD and video recordings, BBC radio and television broadcasts and high-profile concerts.

Many of the regular services at which it sings can be enjoyed via the Cathedral’s YouTube and Facebook channels.

Ely's Choral Heritage

Ely has had a choir school for boys since the 10th century. 2006 saw the creation of a Girls’ Cathedral Choir.

You can enjoy a selection of archive recordings by the Cathedral Choir on our YouTube channel, including from last Christmas.
