Children & Families
We are keen to support children, young people and their families in exploring and expressing their faith.
We understand that families have busy lives so we don’t expect you to join us physically every week, every month or even every season. You are very welcome as often as your family schedule dictates!
If you want to find out more please join our Facebook Group Ely Cathedral Learning Fun for Families for regular posts about worship.
You also will find details of our current worship activities such Story and Song Time and Forest Church on the Learning & Families pages of this website.
Junior Church is ideal for children from Reception to Year 6. We meet at 10.30am every Sunday, either in the Almonry Gardens or in Powcher's Hall, both of which are located within the Cathedral precinct. We are a friendly group with a focus on exploring and discovering the Christian faith through bible study, music, Godly Play, prayer and fun activities. You are very welcome to join us.
If you would like to know more about Junior Church or are simply looking for more information and updates, please contact us: firstname.lastname@example.org
Café Church is a group for young people from years 7 to 13. The core group meets fortnightly for fellowship, reflection, prayer and study in the old Cathedral Refectory at the west end of the Cathedral during the 10.30am Eucharist. There is also a 6th From group which meets half termly for an informal meal.
Members of Café Church have been working over the past year to make a bee-friendly environment in and around the Cathedral. We have been planting bulbs, fillings gaps in the hedge around Dean’s Meadow and planting beds of pollinator friendly flowers both on Oyster Lane and the East Green. This autumn and winter we plan to continue this work, filling more gaps in the hedge and re-invigorating the planting in Oyster Lane.
For more information please contact the group leaders, Tim Thompson on email@example.com or 01353 772131.
