This has been introduced as part of our special measures to manage numbers and maintain social distancing.

Ely Cathedral is now open to visitors, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sundays from 1pm to 3.30pm. Extensive cleaning and Covid-19 Safety measures have also been put in place. Ely Cathedral has achieved Visit Britain's 'Good to Go' COVID-19 industry standard for attractions, confirming that clear processes are in place to protect the safety of our worshippers, visitors, staff and volunteers.


  • There are two bookable entry slots, 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm (last entry 3.30pm), Monday to Saturday and one entry slot on Sundays, 1pm to 3.30pm (last entry 3pm) 
  • We will have limited visitor tickets available for each slot. Pre-booking is essential
  • You will receive your e-ticket via email as a pdf attachment.
    Please print this or download it to your smart phone/device for scanning upon entry
  • PLEASE NOTE: The Stained Glass Museum is located on the upper level of Ely Cathedral and is accessed by a stone spiral staircase of 40 steps. Further details
  • West and Octagon Tower Tours are not available at the moment
  • The Cathedral (not the Stained Glass Museum) is open to visitors on Sundays from 1pm - 3.30pm. Pre-booking (FOC) is essential for track and trace purposes
  • Last entry into the Cathedral is 3.30pm Monday - Saturday, 3pm - Sundays
  • Cathedral Pass Holders - Those with Cathedral passes do not need to book tickets online but please have your passes with you when you visit
