This has been introduced as part of our special measures to manage numbers and maintain social distancing.

Ely Cathedral is now open to visitors, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Extensive cleaning and Covid-19 Safety measures have also been put in place. Ely Cathedral has achieved Visit Britain's 'Good to Go' COVID-19 industry standard for attractions, confirming that clear processes are in place to protect the safety of our worshippers, visitors, staff and volunteers.


  • There are two bookable entry slots, 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.
  • We will have limited visitor tickets available for each slot. Pre-booking is essential.
  • You will receive your e-ticket via email as a pdf attachment.
    Please print this or download it to your smart phone/device for scanning upon entry.
  • If you do not have a printer or smart phone, (so can't bring or download your ticket prior to your visit) please give your ticket details to the staff at the admissions desk upon arrival.
  • West and Octagon Tower Tours are not available at the moment.
  • Last entry into the Cathedral is 3.30pm.
  • We are closed to visitors on Sundays for the time being.
  • Cathedral Pass Holders - Those with Cathedral passes do not need to book tickets online but please have your passes with you when you visit.
