Visitor Opening Hours (From 17 May 2021)

Monday - Saturday: Between 10:00am - 4:00pm (last entry 3:30pm)
Sunday: Between 1:00pm - 3:30pm (last entry 3:00pm)

Please check any changes to opening hours before you visit.

By purchasing a visitor ticket, you are supporting the running costs and maintenance of the Cathedral and the on-going mission of the Dean and Chapter. The upkeep of the Cathedral costs £9,000 a day and so we rely on the contributions made by our visitors, congregation and community keep the doors open as we do not receive funding from the Church or the State.

When you purchase your visitor ticket, you can upgrade it for a free pass for the next 12 months.

Visitor Entry

Cathedral only
Adults - £8*
Children Under 16 - Free (when accompanied by parent/carer)
Students - Free (Students in full time education in Cambridgeshire)
Carers - Free (When accompanying a wheelchair user paying a standard fee)
Cathedral and Stained Glass Museum (Tuesday - Saturday) - Adults - £12.50

*If you a purchasing a ticket for one of our Tours (excluding the Monastic Tour and Tea) you don't need to purchase a Visitor Ticket, as ground floor admission to the Cathedral is included in the Tour package.

Ely Cathedral will never turn anyone away if they are unable to, or do not wish to pay.

There is no charge if you are visiting the Cathedral on a Sunday, before 9am and after 5pm Monday - Saturday, or for those wishing to attend a service or for private prayer.

Cathedral Pass Holders
Those with Cathedral passes do not need to book tickets online but please have your passes with you when you visit.

Private Prayer and Reflection
There is no charge for those wishing to visit the Cathedral for private prayer. Please notify a member of the team.
