Monastic Tours (Limited time availability)

Saturdays in August, 11am-Noon

This summer follow in the footsteps of medieval monks on our fascinating monastic walking tours. Discover Ely Cathedral's monastic buildings - the most extensive in continuous domestic use in Europe - including 'the hospital', the Great Hall, the Black Hostelry and the Prior's House. There is also a rare opportunity to see the Bishop's picturesque Garden - the cloister in the medieval monastery - not usually open to the public.

Tours are included with Cathedral admission, places are not pre-bookable but on a first come first served basis on the day (limited to 15 people per tour). Tours and access to the Bishop's Garden are both weather dependant. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

New for 2019!

Saturdays in August, 10am-Noon
