In line with current restrictions, Ely Cathedral is temporarily closed to visitors and hopes to re-open on 17 May.

This has been introduced as part of our special measures to manage numbers and maintain social distancing.

We welcome you all and assure you that extensive cleaning and Covid-19 Safety measures remain in place. We are proud that Ely Cathedral has achieved Visit Britain's 'Good to Go' COVID-19 industry standard for attractions, confirming that clear processes are in place to protect the safety of our worshippers, visitors, staff and volunteers.


The general admission ticket is valid for one day Mondays - Saturdays between 10-4pm (last entry 3:30pm) and can be used for re-entry during those hours.

The Cathedral is open to visitors on Sunday between 1pm and 3.30pm (last entry 3pm). There is no admission charge on Sunday but as with all tickets, pre-booking essential for Test & Trace purposes.

You will receive your e-ticket via email as a pdf attachment. Please print this or download it to your smart phone/device for scanning upon entry.

The Stained Glass Museum will be open Tuesday - Saturday 10.00am - 3.30pm. PLEASE NOTE: The Stained Glass Museum is located on the upper level of Ely Cathedral and is accessed by a stone spiral staircase of 40 steps. Further details

Cathedral Pass Holders - Those with Cathedral passes do not need to book tickets online but please have your passes with you when you visit.
