The Almonry Kitchen is operated in partnership with Cambridge Dining Company

With a beautifully enhanced interior, customers can enjoy the welcome setting of this 13th-century building and its delightful gardens, centrally located in the grounds of Ely Cathedral. In addition to offering a variety of freshly prepared dishes and locally sourced beverages. The Almonry Kitchen also serves as an event space, hosting a range of corporate gatherings, private celebrations, and more.

Bookings

We accept bookings for lunches all week. In addition, we have a large amount of tables for walk-in customers so if there is any waiting it is very minimal! We serve our fantastic Sunday Lunch every Sunday. Please click on the Sunday Lunch option to book.

Sunday Lunch

Following the success of last year's Sunday Lunch service event, weekly Sunday Lunches will officially launch at The Almonry Kitchen from the 15th February. Crafted by The Almonry Kitchen's talented culinary team, the new menu brings together seasonal ingredients, classic flavours and a touch of indulgence, inspired by the timeless traditions of the Great British Sunday Roast. Featuring beautifully balanced starters, perfectly cooked roast meats with all the trimmings, and comforting handcrafted desserts, all designed to create a memorable dining experience beneath the historic vaulted ceilings. Whether you choose two courses or indulge in three, this menu promises warmth, flavour and a truly special Sunday afternoon by candlelight.

Sustainability

The recent renovations involved replacing the old gas boiler with an air source heat pump which has reduced carbon dioxide emissions from heating by around 80%. This is part of a wider project by Ely Cathedral to significantly reduce carbon emissions and contributes to The Almonry Kitchen being one of the most environmentally sustainable restaurants in the area.

Accessibility

The Almonry is completely accessible for customers with limited mobility. Access for pushchairs and wheel chair users is via the East Lawn of Ely Cathedral and through the Almonry garden. There is seating in the Garden Room or Blue Room and disabled facilities on the ground floor of the building.
