CORONAVIRUS GUIDANCE - ELY CATHEDRAL

Published: 14 Mar 2020   updated: 24 Mar 2020

In line with the Church of England's updated advice and concerns over the continued increase of Coronavirus Covid-19 cases in the UK, we will continue to suspend, until further notice, the sharing of the Common Cup during communion and discourage physical contact at all services which will include the sharing of the peace, blessings and the 'laying on of hands' during prayers for healing. We will also refrain from shaking hands at the door before or after services.

In line with Diocesan advice we will be making sure the Chaplaincy Teams know about any of our community and congregation who are in hospital, rather than visiting ourselves, in order to reduce the risk of spreading infection.

Please continue to pray for, and as appropriate to offer hope, reassurance and support, to all those who are anxious about the health of loved ones, about their own health, and about the future of their jobs and businesses, especially in the hospitality trade.
