Four new Honorary Canons of Ely Cathedral were formally installed during Evensong earlier this week. This particular honour is awarded to members of clergy in recognition of their service to the Diocese of Ely and the wider church. They are appointed by the Bishop of Ely as non residential members of the Cathedral chapter .

The Revd Tom Buchanan - Tom is Associate Vicar at St Philip's, Mill Road. He works full time in public relations, specialising in advising companies and individuals at times of significant change and crisis and is also vice-chairman of governors at the Leys and St Faith's School Foundation.

Monsignor Mark Langham - Before moving to Cambridge, Father Langham held significant posts at Westminster Cathedral and in Rome where he worked at the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and was secretary to the official dialogues between the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion (ARCIC). In 2013 he was appointed chaplain to the Catholic members of the university at Fisher House.

The Revd Alison Myers Alison is Team Rector of the Lordsbridge Team of Churches, a network of worshipping communities across 11 villages west of Cambridge and was elected Chair of the Ely Diocese House of Clergy 2018. Before ordination she worked for 20 years in the IT sector, then in management consultancy, largely in change management, organisational design and in training teams and leaders.

The Revd Dr Jeremy Morris - Jeremy Morris has been Master of Trinity Hall since 2014. He has held many other notable posts in Cambridge as Dean of Chapel of King's College, Vice-Principal of Westcott House and Dean of Trinity Hall. Outside Cambridge, Jeremy is Director of the Archbishop's Examination in Theology, and was formerly Deputy Chair of the Faith and Order Commission of the Church of England.

Commenting on these recent appointments, the Dean of Ely, The Very Revd Mark Bonney said: "We are delighted to have such notable and dedicated individuals join us as Honorary Canons of Ely Cathedral. Each and every one of them bring such a breadth of experience andknowledge to support the work of the Cathedral and within the Diocese."
