DAVID WYNNE, OBE

Ely Cathedral has recently been informed of the death of David Wynne, OBE (1926-2014). He was a highly renowned British sculptor who is responsible for many well-known works, including two of the most iconic pieces of art in Ely Cathedral - Noli Me Tangere in the South Transept depicting the meeting between Jesus and Mary Magdalene, and the statue of The Blessed Virgin Mary which adorns The Lady Chapel.

Ely Cathedral are very fortunate to have known David Wynne and to have been recipients of his works of art.
