Welcome to the 2019 series of Summer Organ Recitals. We are blessed here with one of the country's finest Cathedral instruments, versatile and varied, and capable of breathtaking power and great intimacy.

The Ely organ is world-famous for its fiery character and wide tonal range, and we are delighted to welcome a distinguished line-up of visiting performers from the UK and abroad to showcase it for you this summer. They are joined by the Cathedral's resident organists, and the series offers a huge range of music spanning more than four hundred years and many different countries and traditions. Full details of all the recitals are available below. You can find a specification of the organ here.

We hope you enjoy this summer's feast of music, and look forward to welcoming you to Ely Cathedral again for future concerts.

Director of Music

Supporting the series

We are delighted to offer free admission to the Summer Series, but we suggest a donation of at least £3 towards the running costs of the concerts.
If you are a UK taxpayer please Gift Aid your donation - for every £3 you give, the Cathedral can reclaim an extra 75p. It may not sound like a lot, but this additional sum pays performing rights royalties for a few extra minutes of music or covers the tuning of approximately seven organ pipes!

Thank you for supporting the Summer Organ Series.

Please note that photography and audio/video recording of any sort are not permitted during the recitals. Thank you for your cooperation.
