Entry to the Cathedral is free on Coronation Saturday
We invite you to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort with us here at Ely Cathedral.
To mark this momentous occasion in our history, on Saturday entry to the Cathedral will be free and we will be showing the coronation live in the glorious setting of our nave, as it’s broadcast from Westminster Abbey (time TBC). The Coronation is centred around a religious ceremony that has remained largely unchanged for over 1,000 years!
During the celebratory weekend, the Octagon Tower will be patriotically illuminated red, white and blue; bunting will adorn the Galilee Porch as you enter the Cathedral; and our flower guild will be making some very special displays around the theme of the coronation.
On Sunday there will be a special service at 4.30pm to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.
