Miyazaki's Dreams

Miyazaki's Dreams is a musical immersion in the fabulous atmosphere of anime, and of the world-famous Japanese director and Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki. Mystery Ensemble has collected magical music from his anime and from compositions inspired by his creations.

The evening programme includes renowned works composed by the ingenious Joe Hisaishi, including My Neighbor Totoro, the legendary anime Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and others. The programme also includes works by other composers inspired by Miyazaki’s artworks.

These wonderful musical pieces will transport viewers into the atmosphere of these famous anime stories, and introduce brave heroines, magical creatures and characters inspired by Japanese folklore.  Please note this is a music concert, and no film will be shown.

A fully-licensed bar will be provided for this event. All bars operated by Ely Cathedral are card-payment only. Please be aware that alcohol and glass may not be brought into the Cathedral.
