Join us as The Friends of Ely Cathedral celebrate our 90th Anniversary with a special dinner in the historic Monastic Barn on Saturday 23 May.
- 5.30pm: Choral Evensong (optional, venue: Cathedral)
- 7pm: Drinks reception with Friends’ exhibition
- 7.30pm: Dinner
This anniversary dinner will include musical entertainment from the Cherry Hill Ensemble and an address from Lord Wilson, former Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service. Lord Wilson served as the senior adviser to Prime Minister Tony Blair and led the Economic Secretariat in the Cabinet Office under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, giving him a central role across multiple administrations. He was also Chair of The Cathedral Council for many year.

- Starter: Pressed chicken & salt-baked leek terrine with wholegrain mustard emulsion, textures of carrot; or goat’s cheese spring roll, tomato consommé & basil (V)
- Main: Rump of lamb with parsnip puree, parmesan & herb gnocchi, fine beans and shallots, maderia jus; or artichoke, wild mushroom lattice, pesto, orzo, pumpkin, chive beurre blanc (V)
- Dessert: Apple tarte Tatin, jersey milk ice cream, toffee sauce

Guests are invited to dress smartly (lounge suit/black tie). Friends may bring their own wine, with corkage kindly waived by King’s Ely Catering.
