Alessandro Bianchi was born in Como and studied at Piacenza Conservatoire where was awarded diplomas in Organ and Organ Composition with Luigi Toja. He also attended masterclasses by Nicholas Danby and Arturo Sacchetti. He is Artistic Director of the Musical Association "Amici dell'Organo di Cantł" and organist of St. Edward the Confessor Anglican Church in Lugano.

Organ concert tours have seen him play more that 2000 recitals, always as a soloist, in international organ festivals in Italy, Vatican City, Switzerland, Germany, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Austria, Spain, the Balearics, Tenerife, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Russia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Israel, the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Australia and South Africa.

He has given masterclasses and lectures on Italian Music in Italy, England, the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, the USA, Singapore and Mexico, and undertaken several CD and Radio and TV broadcasts and recordings in Europe, the USA and Brazil.

He has been a jury member in several organ competitions and many composers have dedicated new organ works to him.

In 2014, the City of Cantł awarded him with the title of "Honorable Citizen" for his work in Art and Culture.
