CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FOR WORSHIPPERS AND VISITORS

24 March 2020

Following the statement from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, Ely Cathedral, along with all parish churches and Cathedrals in the country, will stop public worship for the time being and close its doors to the public.

The clergy will continue the Cathedral's pattern of daily prayer and the celebration of the Eucharist. However, this will not be public worship that everyone can attend, but an offering of prayer and praise for the nation and for the world.

Ely Cathedral, The Almonry and The Refectory Café, as well as our two Cathedral shops, will be temporarily closed and all events, concerts and talks are postponed or cancelled.

We will continue to regularly engage with our global audiences and local community through our digital channels on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Please use the website and social media to stay in touch.

We understand that in times like these, it's more important than ever that we unite as a community and we are accessible whether by telephone, social media or email. We would like to offer our reassurance that we are here to offer any help and support we can so please do get in touch by email gro/lardehtacyle//troppus

We will continue to regularly monitor the state of affairs and follow the advice given by the Government or the Church of England. Please use this website and our social media channels for daily updates.

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy. Sustain and support the anxious, be with those who care for the sick, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may find comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord.
