Verger 

Ely Cathedral is seeking a team player with excellent communication skills and initiative to join our team of Vergers on a full-time basis. Duties include responsibility for the security of the building, preparing and verging for services and concerts, and some cleaning of chapels.

Part-time Assistant Chef

The Almonry restaurant are looking for someone passionate about food and cooking and able to work within a team environment to produce good quality dishes using seasonal and local produce. Almonry Front of House Team
The Almonry Restaurant is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced people to join their team.

The Almonry is one of Ely's most prestigious restaurants nestled amongst the medieval precinct of Cathedral, right in the centre of this beautiful riverside city. The main restaurant is located in the 13th century Undercroft and creates a stunning and informal space for lunches, afternoon tea and private hire. The Tea Room overlooks the gardens and is popular with the many tourists and visitors to the city especially for alfresco dining during the summer months.

The Almonry seats up to 80 people and has an excellent reputation for its local sourced, home cooked food. Previous waitressing or restaurant experience would be an advantage however a willingness to learn and good personality is equally important. We can offer you the opportunity of a fulfilling and flexible job, work alongside a great team of people, good pay and tips and the chance to grow with the business under new management.

In addition to providing a very warm welcome to our customers, this position will involve a number of different tasks including taking orders, using the till, ensuring tables are cleared and clean and helping with whatever else is needed. The position will report direct to the Catering Manager, Mark Minns.

Person Specification:
· You will have experience of working in a catering establishment or be willing to learn.
· You will be reliable and flexible and be prepared to work on weekends, school holidays and very occasional evenings as required.
· You will have excellent customer facing skills.
· You will have the ability to cope with varying workloads whilst remaining calm and focused during busy periods.
· You will need to be a team player and enjoy coming to work

Hours
The Almonry is open 10.00am to 4.30pm 6 days a week. Please note that some weekend hours will be required.
