Christmas at Ely Cathedral
Worship
Christmas is about making a journey. On one level we celebrate God's faithfulness in coming in search of us. On another level we celebrate the fulfilment of our search for God, for he alone can satisfy the restlessness of the human spirit.
Both journeys end in Jesus of Nazareth. He is the human face of God. God loves us so much that he came among us to show us how to live in peace. In Jesus we see a human life lived to the full, a living sign of what we have it in us to become.
At Christmas heaven comes to earth; earth is raised to heaven, and we join our voices to the Angels' song of praise:
Glory to God in the highest
And peace to his people on earth
