GENERAL INFORMATION

Cathedral Opening Times

Summer 7am - 6.30pm
Winter 7am - 6.30pm (Monday-Saturday), 7am - 5.30pm (Sunday)

Cathedral Services

Sundays 8.15am, 10.30am and 4pm
Weekdays 7.30am, 8am, 12.10pm (Thursdays and Saints' Days) and 5.30pm

For general visitor access, we recommend you visit between 9am and 5pm (Mondays - Saturdays) and Midday and 4pm on Sundays, when you will be able to access more of the Ely Cathedral and enjoy one of our tours.

As a busy, living, working place of worship, there will be times visitor access is restricted or not possible, due to services, events, filming or maintenance. To avoid disappointment, please check 'Cathedral Closures' for more information.

Photography

Still photography is free of charge. There is a £2 charge for using a tripod or video filming. PLEASE NOTE. Photography and video recording must not be used in the Cathedral during any service.

Brass Rubbing

Available from 1 April to 6 September on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm. Minimum age 7 years. Additional charges apply. For further information contact gro/lardehtacyle//gnibbur/ssarb

Chaplain

During the summer months, there is usually a Chaplain on duty between 10am and 4pm if you wish to speak with a priest. If there is no Chaplain on duty, please have a word with one of the Admissions or Welcome Staff, who can contact the Canon in Residence.

Visitors with disabilities

Ely Cathedral welcomes disabled visitors.
Wheelchairs are available for use in the Cathedral
There is a toilet suitable for disabled visitors in the Processional Way
A loop system operates in the Choir and both the north and south Transepts.
