Throughout Advent and Christmastide Ely Cathedral are delighted to be hosting an eye catching light display inspired by the Star of Bethlehem. The actual image is in fact a transparent screen which will reveal an abstract image which uses up-to-date technology to split the laser beams into three dimensions giving the impression of a magnificent Star hovering above the Nave of the Cathedral. The modern day art installation was created by artist Jayson Haebich and will be in situ at Ely Cathedral from 28 November for eight weeks.

Visitors will be able to engage with the installation by controlling the shape and colour of the display via an iPad.

This is a particular unique and eye catching installation and it is only the second time it has been on public display in the UK.

This installation is kindly sponsored by The Friends of Ely Cathedral
