Battle of the Organs!

An electronic organ belonging to the firm of Makin will be delivered to the cathedral to enable a thrilling "Battle of the Organs" concert on Saturday 14th November. Paul Trepte and Jonathan Lilley will "commence battle" at 7.30pm that evening, drawing on very popular organ music repertoire chosen to reveal the full might of both instruments.
To purchase tickets (£5) for this concert please contact the Cathedral Box Office on:01353 660349 or go online

Advent Procession

Sunday 29 November - 6pm
Please stay afterwards for the official launch of the choir's new CD All is now well. It features a substantial amount of music for Advent and Christmas including a sequence of favourites arranged by Herbert Sumsion entitled "The Holy Birth". However, carols are not just for the winter festive season - so you will find here music for Lent, Easter, Ascension, Pentecost and Harvest as well. There will be drinks and nibbles to celebrate the occasion.

Federation of Cathedral Old Choristers Association

The Federation of Cathedral Old Choristers Association consists of Old Chorister Associations from CATHEDRALS throughout the British Isles, Eire and New Zealand.

The objects are primarily to promote friendship amongst people from like backgrounds, to assist in maintaining and improving the high standard of cathedral music that plays such a vital part in cathedral worship, to support and encourage the activities of each Association and to bring them together in closer contact with one another.

The Federation is instrumental in supporting English Cathedral Music, and maintaining the traditions of Cathedral Choir Schools. It was also instrumental in retaining BBC Choral Evensong on Wednesdays.
