Ely Cathedral Boys Choir was invited to undertake an extensive tour in the USA in October 2008.

The invitation came from British European Speciality Tours ´B.E.S.T.´ who financed the tour. American singers were invited to participate in the workshops led by the cathedral choir. B.E.S.T. assured the cathedral choir that there will be a carefully controlled balance between singing commitments and sight-seeing.

Listed below is a brief itinerary of the tour.

16 OCTOBER

Morning flight - Heathrow to Orlando International Airport.
Coach to Sarasota, FL.

17 OCTOBER

Late afternoon, travel to the Church of the Redeemer - 7.30pm Concert.

18 OCTOBER

Depart for Orlando - St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
3.00pm - present a workshop for either choral musicians, children´s or boy´s choirs from the local community.

19 OCTOBER

First United Methodist Church, Orlando - 11.00am - Worship service.
4.00pm - Concert.

20 OCTOBER

Free Day.

21 OCTOBER

Drive to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - Christ Episcopal Church.
7.00pm - Concert.

22 OCTOBER

Depart to Atlanta, GA.

23 OCTOBER

Peachtree Road United Methodist Church - the boys will offer a free workshop at an area school for the area´s underprivileged children.
7.30pm - Concert.

24 OCTOBER

Morning drive to Nashville, TN - St. George´s Episcopal Church.
6.30pm - Workshop will be offered to boy choirs in Nashville area.

25 OCTOBER

2.00pm - take part in a wedding ceremony at Centennial Park

26 OCTOBER

11.00am - Holy Eucharist at Christ Church Cathedral.

Afternoon - Travel to Sewanee, Tennessee, the home of the University of the South.
4.00pm - Evensong.
Overnight stay at the DeBose Conference center.

27 OCTOBER

Morning drive to Indianapolis - St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
7.00pm - Concert.

28 OCTOBER

Meet at BEST's office (Carmel, IN) then drive to Chicago.
Chicago O´Hare Airport - flight home to the United Kingdom. (Flight will depart around 6pm)

29 OCTOBER

Early morning arrival in London - return drive to Ely.
