The congregation is most warmly invited to THE INSTALLATION
of The Reverend Canon MARK PHILIP JOHN BONNEY as the 35th DEAN OF ELY on Saturday 22 September 2012 at 11am.

We hope that as many as possible will come to support him and his family on this special day. We pray particularly for God’s blessing on Mark and his family and on his ministry here in Ely.

Mark Bonney will become Head of a worshipping community which has existed since Saint Etheldreda founded a monastery for men and women in 673. It was refounded in 970 by King Edgar as a monastic house in the Benedictine tradition through the labours of Saints Dunstan and Ethelwold. After the Diocese of Ely was created in 1109 the Bishop became the Abbey’s Titular Abbot and the Head of the Foundation its Prior.

Please note that the Cathedral will be closed to visitors until after the service (1pm) and the South Car Park will not be available for parking.
