A Message from the Director of Music...
"After nearly fifteen years working as Director of Music in Ely Cathedral, my awareness of the miracle of regular Cathedral choral
worship continues to grow in intensity.
What a privilege it is to work with Cathedral choristers first thing in the morning and early in the evening on a regular basis!
How fortunate we are in Ely to be able to experience worship and music of quality so often. This is a tradition which has disappeared
in other parts of the world. All the more reason for us to be determined to preserve it! Not only do we intend to improve what we
already have, but we are also committed to expansion of the opportunities Ely can offer through its music and worship.
In the recent past Ely Cathedral has righdy concentrated on getting the fabric of the magnificent building in good order, and plans
for the music have been put on hold. It is therefore exciting to see these plans move to the top of the agenda. They have been
formulated with great care and I warmly commend them".
