The Friends of Ely Cathedral help to keep members in touch with the Cathedral and all that is happening there.
The generosity of Friends by subscription, donation and legacy has enabled substantial sums of money to be made available
for many gifts but in order to be able to continue it is vital that numbers are increased.
In recent years the following have been paid for by The Friends including the Cathedral's splendid new lighting system, a
new public address system, the floodlighting of the Octagon, the Cathedral toilet facilities, the Lady Chapel cushions,
internal and external signboards, provision of toilets adjacent to The Processional Way, the Cathedral CCTV system and most
recently the under-floor heating in in the Lady Chapel.
Members receive:
- A free copy of the Annual Report and Year Book.
- An invitation to the Friend's Festival and Annual General Meeting.
- A free pass allowing access to the Cathedral and Stained Glass Museum without charge.
- Invitations to lectures and tours.
- An invitation to the annual outing.
