How To Help

The Friends of Ely Cathedral helps to keep members in touch with all that happens at the Cathedral

Friends of Ely Cathedral

The generosity of individual Friends by subscription, donation and legacy provides money for many gifts which enhance our beautiful and special Cathedral.
New members are always welcome.

In recent years The Friends has paid for the splendid lighting system, a new public address system, the floodlighting of the Octagon, the Cathedral toilet facilities, the Lady Chapel cushions, internal and external signboards, the CCTV system and the under-floor heating in the Lady Chapel.

Members receive:

  • A pass allowing free access to the Cathedral and Stained Glass Museum
  • An invitation to the Friends' Festival and Annual General Meeting
  • Invitations to lectures, events, tours and outings
  • A copy of the Annual Yearbook
