Saint Etheldreda

The Order of St Etheldreda was founded under Royal Patronage in 1992. The Order is a membership organisation for those who wish to share in the great task of cherishing the Cathedral and preserving it for future generations. On joining, members choose to support the Restoration and maintenance of the Fabric, Music at Ely Cathedral or the provision of Visitor Facilities.

Members take comfort in the knowledge that their efforts will provide the firm financial foundations on which the Cathedral relies. In recognition of their support they enjoy:

  • Receipt of a regular newsletter
  • Receipt of a comprehensive annual report
  • Free personal entry to the Cathedral
  • Invitation to special events in the Cathedral
  • Invitation to an annual Service and Reception
  • Special conducted tours to view progress on particular projects
  • Entry of their names in a register housed in the Cathedral
