Cathedral Tower Tours

Throughout the Festival we will be offering Tower Tours accompanied by one of our specialist guides. Your tour will take you into one of Ely Cathedral's two towers: the Octagon Tower is considered a wonder of the medieval world; the taller West Tower offers spectacular views over the city and surrounding countryside. Tower Tours must be booked in advance either online via the website or by calling the Box office on 01353 660349.

The Stained Glass Museum

'A Gem in the Fens'. The Stained Glass Museum is a hidden treasure within Ely Cathedral. An independent museum, and is the only museum in the UK uniquely dedicated to the art of stained glass. A display of over 100 original stained glass panels dating from the early 13th century to the present. Also more modern work by William Morris, John Piper and Brian Clarke. The museum will be open during the daytime for the duration of the Festival.

Historic Ely

The historic city of Ely has much to offer and is a perfect one day or short break destination. There are wonderful walks to explore around the ancient monastic buildings and parkland as well as museums, galleries and tea shops. Ely has a beautiful waterside where you can enjoy a boat trip, a riverside walk or listen to music in the neighbouring Jubilee Gardens. As well as an art gallery and the region's largest antique centre, the riverside is home to a variety of eateries.Ely is also home to some fascinating museums including Oliver Cromwell's House and the Ely Museum all within walking distance of the city.
