Ely Experience Weekends

A weekend in the glorious atmosphere of Ely Cathedral is a unique experience. The Cathedral has been running its Ely Experience Programme since 1998, and many people have enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the Cathedral's life and worship. Each Weekend has a theme and recently these have included The Benedictine Tradition, Exploring Plainsong, Christians & Muslims, The Arts in Prayer & Praise and Music & Measure. Speakers have included Susan Howatch, Esther de Waal, John Rutter, Clifford Longley, and Martin Bell.
In addition to the specialist talks and social events, each Weekend includes:

• A Son et Lumière Tour of the Cathedral or a Concert with the Cathedral Choir
• Hospitality in medieval monastic buildings normally closed to the public
• A tour of the fourteenth century Octagon Tower, one of the finest pieces of medieval carpentry in existence.

Two Ely Experience weekends are held each year, in May and October, and details of forthcoming weekends are published well in advance.
